Methods of Distance Education Delivery
There are several ways how education can be delivered through modern technology. Teachers can provide these options to students for maximum learning.
· Video – this method is one of the popular options nowadays. The boom of computer has brought on the era of long distance learning. Examples of video materials include slides, short clips and documentary films.
· Voice – aside from videos, there are also audio materials that can be used by teachers and students. Teachers and students can achieve learning through telephone conversations, teleconferencing and audio tapes.
· Print – printed materials like books, syllabus and workbooks are basic learning materials. These can be easily sent to students who are miles away from the institution.
Distance education can be effective if the teacher realizes the needs of the students prior to the program. Modern technologies like radios and computers can help the teachers reach out to their students. The two-way communication between the student and teacher will also determine the effectiveness of the distance education program.
